I’m submitting a few photo entries to the blog. . .with a little explanation. One of my favorite of more recent traditions is my annual Christmas Eve eve gift exchange, sleepover, and brunch with four of my close friends in Philadelphia. New Year, New Photos

I've just uploaded some photos taken over the New Year's eve period. One album is from a pre-party at my friends' place, and the other from the awesome Sea of Dreams event at the SF Concourse center. I had a lot of fun shooting both events, and a lot of it was due to my new camera acquisition - Nikon D3 - with its absolutely amazing performance in low-light situations. New Years Eve!

So, I have to say that this New Years Eve was rather different from the ones that I've done in the past. The festivities began with a trip to the Oregon Zoo - tickets were free for the Zoo Lights thing they have going. We didn't really get to see much as most of the animals were asleep, since it was dark by the time we got there. Data center crash on New Year's eve There was a time in the bad old days, when I used to be an on-call data center support consultant. That essentially meant that as an on-call support person,I was like a criminal on parole,who had to report back to the cops whenever they felt bored and wanted even more boring company.
